THE SHY CRAFTER

The Shy Crafter is a Singaporean polymer clay business founded by Shylyn Tan as a passion project inspired by her son Isaac, who has autism. Originally used as a sensory activity to alleviate Isaac's sensory disturbances, polymer clay molding became a way for them to create together, connect with others, and celebrate inclusion and quiet strength. The business creates miniature food, wearables, and narrative clay pieces, often with nostalgic or emotional meaning, and promotes the idea that people with autism can create and showcase their talents.
